challenge

Yogis practicing alone at home can't see or correct their own form.

Goal: help yogis track and improve form alignment while exploring movement qualities in a solo learning environment, and launch the brand around that promise.

Audience: beginner-to-intermediate yogis who know the flow and want better form; coastal, premium casual lifestyle.

Brand goal: express transparency, quality, community and participation in a playful, joyful, minimal West Coast voice.

How might we help yogi’s track and improve form alignment while exploring movement qualities in a solo learning environment?

solution

An AR coaching app where tracked joints appear as dots that grow the longer you hold a pose steady, guided by an AI coach avatar, Ava, and a launch campaign built around the same visual idea: Dot by Dot.

  • One visual language runs through the whole system: the dot is the product feedback, the campaign graphic and the data visualization.

  • Feedback rewards stillness and quality, not reps or speed, which matches how yoga is actually taught.

  • The AI coach gives one fix at a time, in teacher language ("Lift your left knee ~9°"), plus an image to move by ("press into a wave").

final product: home & core features - Live ai coach + real time visualization + motion map

Launch campaign: Dot by Dot

Brand: three routes explored

  • Route A, Shoreline Practice: sunlit editorial coastal lifestyle.

  • Route B, Dot by Dot (selected): the tracking dot as hero graphic; transparent "we show our work."

  • Route C, Solo Together: community-forward, practicing alone together.

Why B: it's the only route where brand and product are the same idea, which meets the brief's brand ↔product goal directly.

Challenges

  • Making AR data readable at a glance, mid-pose, from 2 m away.

  • Keeping an AI avatar clearly distinct from the user's own body.

  • Sourcing consistent, on-brand photography, solved with art-directed Firefly (capsule wardrobe, white-space studios).

Reflection

• Did it solve the problem? PIVOT gives solo yogis a way to see alignment and steadiness without a teacher in the room, and the brand speaks the same language as the product.

• What I'd do differently: test the AI coach's voice cues with users earlier; validate dot-growth thresholds (e.g. the 30s unlock) with instructors; build a true 3D avatar instead of a treated photo.

• Challenges: balancing data density with a calm, minimal UI, and keeping the AI coach from feeling like judgment.

• Why it matters: home practice is growing, but form feedback is still locked behind in-person classes. PIVOT makes quality movement more accessible and safer.

• Next: a shareable session record for physios and coaches, and the campaign's community "dot walls" brought into the app.
